Read a previous negative review on yahoo about this garage but give them the benefit of the doubt...and because it was only £200 including parts :)

How i regret it now... :(

Had timing chain replaced on my car in November 2013. Picked car up and was told by M.Hardy that the water pump "May be damaged". I was advised to keep an eye on the coolant level. This was a challenge in itself as i couldn't see any by the time i got home. I did have a 3 mile trail though.

I drove/sailed home and had lost 2 litres. I was using more water than petrol.

I took the car back and left it with them to rectify the problem. They didn't seem too enthusiastic about doing the job again. Got the car back and the same "mechanic" used white gasket sealer/ bathroom sealant around the water pump to stop the leak. Lazy.... After 100 miles it leaked again...this time it wasn't going back to them.

After two weeks of keeping Yorkshire Water in business i had enough of having to check the water level every time i went to the shop so i bought a water pump.

I took the car to my dads, who after 6 cups of tea, got to work on taking off the water "damaged" pump. We drew an outline of the new pump onto cardboard and pushed the screws we removed through the guide so we knew which screw went where. Then we got to screw 8 out of 9 and realised that the mechanic had not put all 9 screws back in. Also the screws were missing from the timing chain casing and the screws which were in, were either not tight enough or the wrong lengths.

When we removed the water pump there was no gasket at all. He had not put it back on so the coolant was leaking out of every screw hole. Especially the one which was missing a screw. You could see the red stain where it had been leaking. The stupidity of this mechanic is almost impressive. Luckily the new pump came with a gasket.

So if you have a problem with your car, do not take it here, unless you enjoy paying for jobs and then doing it yourself. Properly.
